 What is SIMS ATK Time & Attendance all about?

SIMS ATK is short for Automated Time Keeping. This application replaces the all so present time clock for the recording of employees punching in and out from the work place. Provides instant reports of the employees hourly records in relationship to the section or site the employee is working.

 SIMS ATK has three major procedures.

• Time Keeping (a method for the employee to enter the employee #, section or site and password).
• Attendance (Creation and Edit formats personnel and accounting departments).
• ATK Reports (Provides a method to view, print or export Time & Attendance data in a format).

This application is useful to any business with a minimum of 10 employees. This application was written for the service of employees related to Retail outlets, Manufacturing, and Security Agencies.

For security agencies, software improvements includes time management reporting of security guards, special police officers (SPO) and complete office staff of the property. The security personnel via radio or telephone report their in-service, location status and out-of-service activity to the control center. The office staff can report their activities via computer network, or special timekeeping stations placed throughout the buildings/floors on the property.

With the use of the time management record keeping the information is maintained and logged in accordance with the site/section of the personnel or office staff as they are assigned for work duties. Thus quick and useful reports are available for viewing or printing. The other advantage is for those buildings which have a secure access on a 24 hour basis or restricted access after normal business hours. The security personnel are able to verify and log the person at the time of entry and exit.

 Hardware Notes

No network is required for this configuration. Communication interface between the Control Station and the Supervisor requires the use of the software application called pcANYWHERE. The connection for Host setup is requested by the supervisor, who will become the remote user, the remote user can share the operation of the Control Station concurrently. This requires using one phone line and the external modem at the Control Station and the phone line and external modem of the Supervisor Station.

The second phone line and telephone is used to dial a request for visitation to the lessee's suite, apartment or room.

The timekeeping/access control station are special units providing an open system data collection structure interfacing with Personal Computer.

The MAXILAN IIsx contains a 32-bit AMD 386SX/25 MHz microprocessor. This unit provides greater power that conventional data collection terminals because of its proprietary architectures from United Barcode Industries, Inc. The MAXILAN II models are designed for rugged industrial environments and may be wall mounted or desk or flat surface mount. The unit contains no moving parts, and its front panel is sealed from environmental contaminants.

This input device is the ID3D HandKey Hand Identity Verifier manufactured by RECOGNITION SYSTEMS, INC.

This device provides SIMS G-Guard with a truly physical personal identification of the person(s) requesting access or entry to property, building(s) or secure area(s). This device will be available for use simply upon request of the client. The biometic device may be used with any of the SIMS applications, the scan of the right hand takes less than two seconds and software verification CRT display is less than one second. This allows the Guard to check the person's picture Id in relation with a physical Id.
