11/04/2009 The Cannabis Therapy Institute  today announced the
Colorado Patient Services program, designed to help caregivers provide
other services to their patients in accordance with the Court of Appeals  recent ruling,
which interpreted the definition of "primary care-giver" to mean that a caregiver must "do more"
for his patients than simply  provide medical marijuana. Colorado Patient Services can provide
Colorado Patient Services program, designed to help caregivers provide
referrals for all the other caregiving services your patient may need, as well
as provide you with a paper trail for each patient to help show your compliance
with state law regarding this new ruling.

Legal Background
The Court of Appeals decision in Colorado v. Clendenin published on Oct. 29, 2009, stated:
"We conclude that the act of supplying marijuana for medical use, by itself, is insufficient to constitute
significant management responsibility for a patient's well-being, and consequently is insufficient to
constitutionally qualify a person doing so as a 'primary care-giver."

AND

"We conclude that to qualify as a 'primary care-giver' a person must do more than merely supply a patient who has a debilitating medical
condition with marijuana."  Read more >
